From March 5th to April 29th 2014 explore the golden age of British popular music through the collections of the National Jazz Archive at the Barbican Music Library.
All That Jazz; The Golden Age of British Popular Music showcases rare and unique material including posters, programmes and photos from 1919 – 1950.
Featuring stories and material relating to The Original Dixieland Jazz Band, Ken ‘Snakehips’ Johnson and Humphrey Lyttelton and photos from the personal collections of Jim Godbolt and George Webb, visitors will also be able on listen to popular tunes from the period.
On Tuesday evenings staff from the National Jazz Archive will be on hand to offer visitors the unique opportunity to handle archive material. These sessions are free and there is no need to book.
