Come at see us at A Love Supreme
The Archive is packing its bags and going off to Glynde Place in East Sussex to join the fans in the sunshine to enjoy a jazz-infused weekend Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 July.
We’ll be featuring the Centenary Celebrations for Dizzy Gillespie, Thelonious Monk and Ella Fitzgerald, 100 Years of Recorded Jazz plus 50 years since John Coltrane’s passing. The exhibition will feature images and information gleaned from the Archive, much of which has not been seen before by the jazz public. This is part of the Archive’s contribution to #Jazz100.
Also available will be copies of photographer Brian O’Connor’s book, Images of Jazz, which contains 35 years of Brian’s work around the jazz venues of the UK. And the good news is that there’ll be a special offer price for visitors to Love Supreme.
If you’re at the Festival come and say hello, spend some time viewing the exhibition and sign-up for our monthly e-Newsletter which will keep you up to date with the Archive’s activities including our fabulous fundraising gigs.
For 2017 we’re looking forward to gigs by the gypsy jazz of Trio Manouche, our Patron Clare Teal and Clark Tracey.
